Hello, welcome to my site. Who am I? Why do I want you know me? Well, I am just Jenn, but I also happen to be a great Professional Developer, speaker, mother and as I mentioned on my splash page, the little girl who couldn't read.
I know many people in the Educational Technology arena who are wild successes, but I don't know much about the person beyond the presenter. I believe my strength as an educator and speaker comes from the sum of my experiences and sharing what I have learned. For a very long time I hid the fact that I have dyslexia among my colleagues, I hid that I didn't live above the poverty line until I was in my mid 20's, I never discussed that I was homeless for two years or that I was "that kid" who lived in "that ugly house" (actually several run down houses).
I absolutely did not share the fact that I spent a portion of my life on welfare, or that people in the line behind us at grocery stores would take pity on my mom and often make up the difference of what we couldn't afford. The simple fact is that I was one of those "at risk kids". How I made it this far is purely the act of providence, or put in another way: Teachers and School professionals saved me. I am forever grateful and try my best to pay it forward when I can.
The best way I know how to help others is to share what I have learned.
